Advantages of Using a Pet Sitter:
Melissa Ramos, Owner of Cedar Park Pet Sitting
At a very young age, I knew I loved animals and wanted to care for them. Whether it was the pet of a friend/relative or a stray on the street I have always seen it as a priority to see that it had everything it needed. Food, shelter, and love. In 1999 I was fortunate enough to get a job working with animals. It paid the bills but more importantly I was doing something I truly enjoyed . I began as a professional pet groomer and kennel technician. Working at grooming and boarding facilities. This allowed me to experience the responsibilities of taking care of pets health and well being while in my care.
During this time I acquired knowledge of animal nutrition and behavior. Learning all the pet breeds, the haircut each one required, and the distinct personality traits they possessed. Meticulous administering and recording special diets and medication was crucial for each pet as it could mean life or death for them. Love and attention was just as important because mental stimulation directly affects physical health.
In 2005 I began to do a little pet sitting on the side because it didn't interfere with my grooming hours. After a couple years I had a good idea that I might be able to start a pet sitting company on my own and not have to work for somebody else. The freedom of being my own boss was very appealing. Once again I was utilizing my deep love of animals to create a career path for myself. It didn't get much better than that!
The fact that Austin, Texas is such an animal friendly city was a perfect canvas to paint my future. In 2007 I created the website for Cedar Park Pet Sitting. The business was very successful. I believe the biggest contributor to that success was “old fashioned hard work” all day, every day. It wasn't long after that I had to hire help. As of today, I have a loyal clientele and a qualified group of vetted sitters to care for their fur-babies as I would personally want mine cared for.
Working with clients and their pets as we build lasting relationships is very satisfying. It is our goal to provide you with a customized pet sitting routine that caters to the needs of your pet. We aim to gain your trust through professional care that is consistently reliable. We will always strive to give you our best as we know it is both a privilege and honor to be chosen as your pet sitting company.
